His company, Kurzweil Technologies, has a joint venture with theational Federation of the Blind called knfb Reading Technology to create reading products for people with disabilities. knfb Reading is the company that has created Blio.
Blio gives the user/e-reader access to a book's rich illustrations, and its text-to-speech capabilities to turn any e-book into an audiobook. This Blio app is probably going to be for free, and it should change the platform for e-book
